Probably
new staff who didn’t have a history with Digimon. When you have been spending
time with Digimon Adventure series
for almost 10 years all you can think is “what do they know about Digimon?”, “do
they stay loyal to the original story?”, “do they take into account drama CDs
etc?”. So it wasn’t a positive surprise.
But if
thinking about something positive, it was definitely Yamato’s voice. When new
voice actors were released I was so anxious because I love Kazama voicing
Yamato. But when I heard Hosoya voicing Yamato in the first PV with voices I
just let out a sigh of relief. It sounded the same!! (*´ο`*)=3 はふぅん

Day 02: Your original
expectations for this sequel.
Well, when
it was known that tri. takes place 3 years after 02, my expectations were that
tri. would fill the gap between the and 02 and the epilogue as much as it can
while being as natural as possible. Meaning that every answer to available
questions shouldn’t be squeezed to tri.
What I wasn’t
expecting was this much drama what we’ve got. I wasn’t even expecting complex
plot, because I just wanted to see them all. I kind of hoped just seeing Chosen’s
normal life, hanging out with friends. Pondering why more and more people are
getting partner digimon. Definitely no new characters to the main group.
Then I
expected feels to happen. There have been touching moments but not as many as
there could have been. Staff has missed so many moments where they could rip
our hearts out! How disappointing. (*´艸`*)
I got hooked to Digimon Adventure series in 2005 and since then it has never left my side. It was kind of sad to know that the series was completely finished and damn,
I never could have even imagined that I would see those Chosen Children ever again in
official anime. But it didn’t matter that much, I had fanfiction and they have
been travelling with me in my thoughts all these years.
When I heard about Digimon Adventure 15th Anniversary Event 2014,
obviously I was very happy yet surprised. I hadn’t been in Digimon fandom
basically at all, so I had no idea that there really are people who love
Digimon the same way I do. I watched the countdown to the event but I can’t remember did I watch the event itself… But I
definitely watched the video 世界中の“選ばれし子どもたち”へ when TOEI put it on their YouTube channel.
They had put all of the most touching parts in the video, Butter-Fly
playing in the background. I was deeply moved and cried while watching it. I
definitely felt the love. And then suddenly…
AH! Yeah, that’s for me! I’m Chosen Child! *cries* They have something for
me!
And then BOOM suddenly…
I was so angryLOL
Like WTF Taichi is not 17 years old!! How come they don’t remember that
Taichi was 14 in 02?? And what do they mean with Spring 2015? It’s now August 2014!
…
…
Wait, what?
I had to play the video again. I was shaking and wanted to see the end
of it but I couldn’t fast forward it because I was too afraid that I would miss
something.
When the texts came, I read everything very
carefully.
!!!!! WHAT WHAT WHAT DIDN’T THAT SAY NEW SERIES!? THEY ARE MAKING NEW ADVENTURE SEASON!?!?!
*starts to hyperventilate* *cries* *whimpers* *walks in circles*
THEY ARE MAKING A NEW ADVENTURE SEASON WHERE TAICHI IS SEVENTEEN???
*faints but is happy*
That’s how I encountered tri. for the very first time. I totally freaked out! ww It definitely didn’t expect that kind of announcement because my brain didn’t want to even understand it first. But then I cooled down and started to NADE-NADE like there was no tomorrow because I wanted to know more! (I still do.)
Himekawa Maki: At this
rate, it will happen again… There’ll be victims again.
ND: I don’t want them
to have that harsh experience.
HM: Yeah.
This conversation is rather interesting. What
they expect to happen? The reboot? Meicoomon going berserk even more? What??? Victims??? Is someone going to die in tri.?
Well but whatever it is, either they have experienced
that or they know people who have experienced that and seen how it affects
them. (It can be supposed that it is something the Chosen haven’t experienced.)
Himekawa Maki: I
can’t, right? To say that those people are all missing… I don’t want to burden
those kids anymore. It’s part of our duty to deceive them well. (言えないでしょ?まさか彼らが全員行方不明だなんて…これ以上、子どもたちに負担はかけたくない。うまくだましてあげるのも私たちの仕事よ。)
So from that sentence above and from the fact
that everyone seems to ignore 02 kids, it looks like that Maki (and others) are
not only hiding the truth, but also giving a cover story for their absence.
Because it’s part of their duty to
deceive them well. And well they are doing that if no one really suspects a
thing.
But why on earth she wants to keep it a secret?
Not giving a burden doesn’t just seem right. (That’s what you get from being
shady…) Maybe their appearance would mess up her plans?
(From Kokuhaku
it can be assumed that older Chosen are thinking that 02 kids are alive and
kicking. They have “seen” and mentioned Ken, they even visited his place and
there Takeru asks Hikari that “Did you
get a response from anyone?” and Hikari denies. We cannot surely know who
are they talking about, but my guess is that they mean Daisuke, Miyako and Iori.)
When Taichi texts Sora in the morning when his football game will be, the date is 06/19 (Sunday). (And yes, this was actually Sunday in 2005.) The kick-off is at 14:00.
But see the time when Taichi is texting with Sora, it’s 10:05.
But when Sora reacts to Taichi’s text message, it’s already 13:08. So there is a possibility that Taichi sent the message too late on purpose, so Sora would not come to see his game because no one else is coming either. (⁎˃ᆺ˂)
Now as you can see, it takes 30 minutes to go to the concert venue, probably from Sora’s home. Taichi’s game is being held at Daibacho Ground. I have no idea where this could be. I couldn’t find any football field in Odaiba except the one at the elementary school. But Taichi heads there already at 10:00 so it can be farther away. Let’s assume it’s not very far away from Odaiba, therefore it probably don’t have any effect on the travel time to the concert venue.
Football game usually lasts about 2 hours. So if the game starts at 14:00 it will end something around 16:00. There you add the trip to the concert venue and it would be 16:30.
Now when looking at Yamato’s concert ticket very closely we can see that the doors will open at 16:00(?) and the concert starts at 17:00. Here we can see that Sora actually is able to attend both events. (We see Sora standing at a bus stop somewhere at 13:42. Maybe she is trying to see the football game too.)
BONUS: Even though the events are supposed to be held on the same day, date on the ticket seems to be 04/17 (Sunday)… And yes, this was also Sunday in 2005. ^^;
Also note that a user on With the Will tracked down the coordinates for where she was being tracked by Maki and Daigo’s agency. Her location? Shibuya.
I wonder if she went to the game only to find out that it was cancelled and that Taichi was absent…and then went to the concert, only to find it also cancelled?
That user has already said that he accidentally mixed two coordinates with each other and corrected that Sora’s real location is pretty near Taichi and Hikari. I don’t know is that supposed to be the bus stop or is it just meant to be near her home.
Then I have something more about the coordinates! I was going to write this in my earlier post but it looked just too messy. So I’ll do it now.
Even though the coordinates are a very cool detail, there are few faults also. They basically show up one day earlier what they should, because when Maki’s computer screen is shown, sun is obviously setting. But the next scene is Sunday and that’s when all the Chosen should be in those locations.
And to make things more mixed, not everyone was in those locations at the exact same time. Those are all just the places where we have seen the Chosen to be in during that day. If my calculations are right, at least Taichi and Mimi should be somewhere else (Taichi should be warming up for the game and Mimi arrives to Narita late in the evening). Takeru, Yamato, Jou, Koshiro and Sora notice radio disturbance at their locations, so those match.
